DMR-01 ITR-01 DMR-02 TESTING - PT 2

Here be the second part of our visit to Tutuban yard during preparations for testing the new ROTEM railcars from South Korea.

The railcars were being delivered to the Philippines as part of a project to restore the metro heavy-rail tracks around Manila.

ROTEM - Part 1

While this work actually saw the north line refurbished to Caloocan, and the building of stations, the subsequent Aquino government scrapped the service just short of the opening.

Have my views on this, but now that we are in the strange situation where it is illegal for foreigners to have a view, I shall leave it for locals to express.

Looking towards the driver's cab of DMR-02.
Plastic still protected much of the internal areas.

If you look closely, you can see the original PNR logo underneath the new. They were delivered with the original logo, which was very soon replaced.

A rather pretty someone else I have not been able to identify either.
She has something to do with the railcar commissioning.
