One of my more interesting trips to the Philippines was back in 2009.
At the time, the six new ROTEM sets were being delivered from South Korea, and initial trials were underway.
I was incredibly lucky to be allowed to witness some being offloaded from ships at the port, and also to take part in some speed trials on the south line in Manila.
The next two blog entries look at the first set (DMR-01 ITR-01 DMR-02) soon after arrival at Tutuban.
They were in the process of replacing the original PNR logo, which lasted only for a very short amount of time after they arrived.
I wish I did get a drive - but we had still to depart when this was taken.
:-)
In the process of replacing the original PNR branding with Filtrack.
Looking towards Tayuman Street.
No idea who this lovely lady was, but was told she was something to do with the new ROTEM sets and trials.
This station diagram has long interested me, many of the names were just not relevant.
