PANAY PT6 - POTOTAN

Pototan station, part of the province of Iloilo, and 30 kilometres from Iloilo City, opened in 1907.
Pototan itself was founded in 1874.
Surviving railway relics consist of the station and tracks across a level crossing.

Original heavy wooden sliding door at Pototan.

Kuya Ed told me that these bars were there during the railway era.

Pototan station building remains in use for other purposes.

The railway station is located on M Yusay Street, with the following level crossing remains below at the Roxas City end of the crossing loop.

Former level crossing over Teresa Magbanua Street in Pototan. Located at the Roxas City end of the yard.
Another example of illegal construction over the line can be seen, this time by a 'Hanna Renz Bakery'.

This sort of construction is one of the many challenges facing the important rebuilding of the line.
Though, with some determination, it is not impossible. This has been shown on Luzon when these sorts of structures have got in the way of railway progress.
